​I find great satisfaction in painting the portrait as it is a challenge to capture the likeness of the subject and their underlying human condition. I generally choose friends, family, and colleagues as subjects due to my close association and strong feelings grounded in experience with those individuals. Using similar techniques in my figural work, I bring these subjects and their condition to life.
